are not taking any perceived threats lightly in the wake of that shooting in newtown. a threatening phone call prompted an investigation. he sent a recorded message explaining the content of that phone call. >> at 10:00 a.m., the caller stated you are next and hung up. the school uponned by immediate -- responded by immediately calling the police department and closing down the schools. all teachers did a great job and made sure everything was okay and police arrived and searched both calm campuses the police superintendent said a full investigation has been launched and they are trying to determine where that phone call came from. when parents came they came to check on their kids and any parent who has been fingerprinted and can volunteer to be part of patrols and they are encouraging parents to be involved as an extra layer of security. ktvu channel 2 morning news. >>> an 18-year-old is accused of posting online threats. sergio was or priested -- was arrested yesterday and he said he supports what the gunman did and he has access to firearms inside his home. >>> in the meantime,

the school and around newtown, there are memorials candles and teddy bears left by people who have traveled miles to honor the victims. >>> there is new details about the gunman in friday's deadly elementary rampage. authorities now say the gunman was heavily armed. he fired hundreds of arms of ammunition and died with hundreds of rounds that were never used. in addition to having an assault rifle and two handguns, authorities say he had another shotgun in his car. some of the shooting victims were shot as many as 11 times. the shooting as you can imagine is effecting parents and kids right here in the bay area. tara moriarty is live at st. cecilia in san francisco this morning to talk more about how the students will honor the victims today. tara. >> reporter: students here plan to wear blue and gold today and those are the school colors for sandy hook elementary school. now of course on the minds of many administrators statewide is the issue of security. you can see behind me here there is a fence and it's obviously designed to keep intruders out. if someone tries to get in it'sa

going on since the shooting in newtown connecticut. >>> a san francisco church is opening its doors for christmas breakfast to help those in need. alex savage is there to talk about how many people are expected. this is a huge event and i tell you, there is a lot of generous people making sure people get a warm meal this christmas. they are working feverishly and some are slicing vegetables getting a salad ready and they will be serving first a christmas breakfast and then christmas meal with turkey and ham and they are expecting to serve about 5,000 meals today, all told, a holiday tradition to give those in need a place to feel welcome. at least 600 volunteers will be here throughout the day. one volunteer said she came because she wants to make it brighter for them plus she wants to learn how to carve a turkey. >> it gives me pleasure to come down here and help others. >> reporter: meantime, dozens of people are already waiting in line for the breakfast that will be served at 7:00 a.m. and they will first serve the breakfast, ham and expand that will be served at 9:00 a.m. and they w

in newtown with the exception of sandy hook elementary people are resuming going back to school. with the exception of nancy lanza she was devoted to her children. one man said she could come to school to help her interact with other children. nancy would also help friends and strangers and in the meantime, there is no clue on what led him to shoot at innocent children. they were not able to get any information out of the computer because he destroyed it with a hammer or screwdriver before the massacre began. >>> the names and ages were red allowed. 20 flames represented the lives taken too soon. the gunman's mother and the gunman. >> people in our community are just heart broken over what has happened in connecticut and we all identify with the parents and with the community where these little children have been killed so horribly. >> one person with a special bond to newtown is betty. her grieve was clearly visible during last night's service. >>> two more bay area funerals are scheduled. then tomorrow, the sikh community will hold a vigil on rockville road. anybody who comes is enc
